Terminal (Shell)
The SHELL tab opens a terminal in your browser, connected to the container of the branch's Odoo instance. Use it for troubleshooting: inspect files, check a setting or run a one-off command, without installing anything on your computer.
Access
SHELL tab of a production or staging branch (dev and migration branches have no instance). Available to the project's Super Admin role only; for other roles the tab is greyed out.
Open a terminal
- Open the branch, then the SHELL tab.
- The secure connection is set up automatically: the terminal shows Initializing secure connection..., then Connected.
- Type your commands as in any terminal. The window adapts to the size of your browser.
To end the session, leave the SHELL tab or the page.
Production branch
On the production branch, commands run directly on the instance your teams use. Proceed with care. To change code, go through Git instead: the Web IDE or a commit pushed to the branch.
Connection messages

| Connection Error. Check console. | The connection to the instance failed. | Check that the branch is deployed, then reopen the tab. |
| Authentication Failed | The session was refused. | Check your role in the project; if the problem persists, contact your Karizma representative. |
| Configuration Error: Missing Socket URL | The instance's connection is not configured. | Contact your Karizma representative. |
